Nesting

Aug 5th- Ladies and Gents, mark your calendars... Leah Vases & Bowl
We're having a house party, MAK style - which means last minute deco, lots of cool kids, and late night dancing...

We're making a reading nook like this! I'll post pics once we have it up and running...

For more great pallet ideas, check out Scandinavian Deko

Loving all these colors right now!

Any suggestions for a chalk board? Thought could be cute on the wall above the nook, so it can been seen from walking in the front door.

Hopefully our new rug will have been delivered...
...to put our new coffee table on!

Off to the Pottery Barn outlet where I plan to get some of these...
To put in one of these...

and the Restoration Hardwar outlet where I will lust after...
5-Foot French Tower Clock
and the Crate and Barrel outlets where I will pick a color for...

Bennet Tabasco 20" Floor Pillow

Here ya go

Wednesday

Today

Day 2 of no coffee, and that's all I have to say about that.

Oh and I had a fab picnic lunch date today at the Capitol, but didn't take any pictures because apparently I was too tired and I forgot.

Monday

Depressed

I read the most disappointing article from Primitive Stimulus, not that the article itself was a disappointment, but rather the realization it brought me. The article is regarding long distance running being bad for the body. In the past, I have argued until I was blue in the face about how long distance running is good (based soley on the fact that I like to do it, and I don't like to be wrong). When I would be told, "actually sprinting or long distance walking is better", I would pridefully think, "they're just don't have endurance like I do." Depressingly, 8 years and 40+ races later, I am convinced.
Check out the article, follow the links, tell me what you think.

First of many landscapes, stay tuned...

Thursday

Tara and Billy!

Beginning of many...this was such a beautiful Fort Worth wedding. Sweet families, gorgeous couple, fun reception! More to come...

Wednesday

Let's just hope she never reads this...

I love "borrowing" jewelry from my sister when she travels...of which I never plan to give back as a bitter act of defiance that she travelled in the first place. Speaking of acts of defiance...
That's right, this mom-dressing-desk-working-early-nighter got a tat.
...and so did she
...and it hurt like hellski.
The End.

I cannot cook in a dirty kitchen

I am not usually a clean freak about the kitchen, but for some reason when I cook, the kitchen has to be clean. I clean before, and I clean during. I throw away my trash, wipe off the counter, and put away each ingredient before adding the next.

This little OCD girl branched out from her taco meat last night, and made crab cakes from a receipe I found on Every Day Paleo ! I made enough to have lunch and dinner for the next three days... maybe I am still a child and eating the same food for every meal...
These, however, I will not be eating for every meal because the recipe only made 11,
4 of which I ate last night...

Tuesday

Fish Fry and Fourth of July

After working 3 straight weeks with no days off, I woke up on Monday and moved to the couch where I laid until about 7:00 pm, with the exception of lunch with the 'rents at El Arroyo with the ever fun Becker. We made a serious dent in our current TV on DVD season, and went on a walk as the sun went down - lazy maybe, but got in some much needed rest.

Claire Bear came over to join the fun, and to discuss the possibility of turning the MAK house into the MACK house - "Dreams the way we planned them" - Wicked. Tonight will be our Quarter Life reunion, coined that way because we all bonded during our quarter-life-crisises (post college pre, careers/marriage). These are my soul sisters. So gangster, so thug.
He's pretty thug, too.

Friday

30 Days

Whelp here we go. I wish I had a before shot, but this is the skirt I cut from a dress. Just imagine this bottom with a really ugly royal blue top. PS this is my room, I threw everything to the side so it would look semi clean. It's July 1st, which means I've done Paleo for a month, and therefore am letting myself have a piece of the chocolate by my desk. Except, for the first time, after having it I did not crave more, but rather felt the effect on my body. I was a little worried I would just go crazy if I rewarded myself even a little, but if anything it has encouraged me to stick with it another month.
I start crossfit July 11th...I know it has taken me about a month to actually start from when I was planning, but no more excuses. Elements is 7/11, 7/13, and 7/15 and then I'll either start Endurance or the normal CrossFit classes.
One of my co-workers just walked by and asked me if I got a hair cut, but I made a comment like "no I just never fix my hair like this"...when in reality I did in fact give myself a haircut, and it was probably not the smartest idea I've ever had. Everyone was saying that when you are growing your hair out, you have to be sure to cut off the split ends...so I did. Literally I did the cutting. So rather than worrying about if my hair is straight or even, I know that is it healthy...aaaaaand I know that my mom will fix it this weekend. And hopefully take me to Sam's.
