Thursday

Gypsy Parade to Old Town Square, and Courtney :)...it was so cold, but we got some mulled vine and pizza to warm up!

We're looking forward to our 7:30 bike tour in the morning- pictures to follow!

Wednesday

We classes met yesterday for the first time. We had a guest speaker, a local Czech who spoke on the history and what not of The Czech Repulbic- so interesting and enjoyable! The "advanced" photo students got the afternoon off, so me and Court exploring/for a jog around the castle again...such pretty views from such high lookouts.
Everyone came over to our apartment for fajitas, and after we went to czech out Old Town Square. We managed to get stuck in the rain shortly after getting off the tram, so we ran to the square and found a tent, which ended up being part of a restaurant, so we sat in the middle of Old Town Square and ordered some wine and watched the rain.
This morning, Court and I went to lunch with Lisa and Irenka, then Irenka took me shopping :) :) Today has been the coldest, though I kept forgetting to take my jacket everywhere I went. There was a Barcelona football game tonight and so we met up with some or Irenka friends at a local sports bar/pub on another square and sat outside and watched it, though we didn't last very long because of the weather, so we walked to a small Italian restaurant and got some tomato basil soup to warm up :)

Tuesday

Botanical Gardens! Starbucks :) Found out we don't have AC :(

Monday

I realized my internal clock was still off when I woke up at 5 this morning. It gets light surprisingly early here, considering it doesn't get dark until about 9. Rather than staring at my ceiling for 3 hours, I went for a jog around the castle we walked around last night. It's about a 5 minute jog away, and sits very high (so there's a nice little hill to run up to get to it) above the city so it has a great lookout of the city that I found, I'll be sure to post a picture later.
Me and Court are having breakfast out on our balcony right now, listening to the tram go by (but not seeing it because when we sit down we can't see over the wall haha)
I've realized all that I've spent since I've been here, including the taxi from the airport, meals, and grocery shopping, has been 1000ck, or about 50 dollars (aren't you proud of me dad?)

Sunday

Went to Church with Lisa this morning, and met Irenka Michova, a sweet Czech girl who has had Lisa's husband as a professor. I brought her fruit loops because she missed them so much from her American study abroad program. After Church, Irenka and I, and her friend Zach met another friend Rowland and went to a little Italian restaurant for lunch, I got bruschetta for lunch which cost about 3 dollars :)

I walked from Lisa's house to our flat (I'm so thankful it's walking distance) and unpacked and went grocery shopping haha I wonder if the cash register could tell we were American?

These pictures are our: Mine and Court's room, our living room, and our view from our window

Saturday

Well, I guess I made it :)This is for you mom, so you can imagine exactly where I am :)

Well looks like I'm here! After the taxi dropped my off at the opposite end of the street where I was supposed to be, I wandered around for about 30 mintues asking who spoke English and if anyone knew where a pay phone was or internet access. (Dad, I saved that story for now rather than calling you then, well not that I could have. But now I'm laying in a bed with the breeze blowing through the window and all safe).
The Millers are such a sweet family, their 2 boys even let me play broom ball with them, which consists of using hockey-like sticks to hit balls across their room in hope of scoring. ( lots of diving on the ground and getting hit in the leg haha),
We found out my school is walking distance, like really 10 minutes from their house with is such a blessing! Ok going to get some much needed sleep.

Tuesday

(The story goes from bottom to top)
Triathlete Jenny Gilkerson trained super hard for her upcoming race. Right before her group started the swimming portion, she laughed "Ok guys, yall have fun!" She finished the swimming stronlgy, and transitions smoothly to the biking. She did a great job, and always gives to Glory to God, knowing her strength comes from Him.
