Kimberly and Rach Face!

Last minute shoot, love these girls!

Sunday

"We were meant to live for so much more, we want more than this world's got to offer"

Though the face I'm making is due to my current state of Bell's Palsy, it also reflects on how much of a grasp I have on life right now :)

I've recently discovered not only my love for writing, but the therapy I find in it, so for those of you that come here for photography purposes, here's an insight to my soul...

I don't know what it is about acoustic music, but it always sends me down a pondering path where I get lost in my own thoughts and have problems gathering or articulating them, which I where I found myself this afternoon sitting in Opas, previously known as Music Cafe.

I love reading, I love philosophy, specifically religious philosophy, but usually have problems relating specific truths to me and my life, though I find them applicable to life in general.

I've recently finished school, but am admittedly finding myself a little lost when I am not in some capacity of learning, which is probably causing my total consumption by philosophy books given to me by my mother.

I am currently doing my first Precept Bible Study, and I get excited about the possibility of pursuing more education in terms of apologetics and/or philosophy...and then I get the feeling I'm running away from an adult life with a career. I am told that this is the only time in my life when I could pick up and move to Colorado and do a "Summit Semester", or attend a Torchbearer school, but then I get convicted on the fact that for the most part I have spend most of my energy focusing on change and not allowing myself to grow deeper in my relationships.

That's it, not too much of a conclusion.

Real Life?

Back to work for me, after basically taking a month off for the Holidays- oh the joys of my job :) Photo Shoot in Tyler this weekend, call if you want me to squeeze you in!
The bro and I tried our new bikes out, riding through the green belt, town lake, the veloway, and shoal creek...so fun! We had to walk out bikes through 2 creeks (because we're not hard core enough haha) and my bag broke and flew in the water, carrying his iPhone...what an edventure fishing that out :) Irenka was here for 10 days, which was such a joy to hang out again. I'm basically planning my get-away back to Prague asap. I bought way too much music on iTunes last night and am currently jamming to it, getting ready to meet miss Katy Sims and talk about our Costa Rica adventure in March!
Has anyone been to Music Cafe on South Lamar? So fun- went to happy hour with the girls to check it out, and it's like a bar with a coffee shop atmosphere...I think I found my new regular spot! Czech it out! (Irenka that was for you)
I have some possible new direction with my future, but again am just praying for discernment.

Reminiscing

Michael and I, 2005?
Dancing at the Trail Dust, 2004?
Prom Junior Year

I must admit I am one who loves to travel down Memory Lane with friends, and I do it often.
My time in Washington was filled adventures and lots of laughs, and of course reminiscing fun times in Europe this Summer. We spent times in old book stores, antique shops, Pike's Place Market in Seattle, hiking around, playing monopoly when it was too cold or dark to play outside, and of course hot-tubbing contemplating life.
Our "Quarter Life Crisis" group got together for dinner one last night while we were all in town, and I am already so thankful for these new friends!
It was such a blessing, before I left town, to hang out with Miss Katy Sims, such a dear sweet friend. I was so glad to hear she is now living back in Austin, but so happy for her experience this summer working for Feed the Hungry in Phoenix and her 2-month assignment in Bolivia. Isn't it such a neat way God works in our lives, for us to have friends through whom we see Him working?
After only being in my home town a couple nights, I have already done some good 'ole reminiscing with high school friends...Last night was filled with lots of laughs with Michael, Grace, and Sam.
Though I can get in these high-gear-busy-adult-working mode, it is nice to spend time around a fire with friends who knew and loved me in my loud-attention-craving elementary days, the awkward middle school days, the too-cool-for-school high school days, and the stressed out college days.

Sunday

Lately

Lately, I have found myself more thoughtful, mostly due to my International Internship application with Young Life...I don't know why, but every time I am asked to write "my story," I have trouble, why I don't just save it on my computer, I don't know.
I am very excited about life and where it is possibly heading, as I keep my fingers crossed about certain things. I'm taking a break, however, from figuring out my future, when I go to Seattle next weekend! I'm told it will involve night skiing, hiking, and staying up late around a bonfire contemplating life. Needless to say I'm pretty pumped.
I had my first Christmas get together tonight, which involved some creative cookie decorating, mabye the worst movie with Ben Affleck, but more importantly hanging out with new friends. I'm so excited about having relationships with these sweet girls!
